My primary focus has always been centered around restoring ecosystem health in Aotearoa. I love that isotopes can help us answer an assortment of questions regarding the wider ecosystem and the species that live within it. My masters will concentrate on using isotopes as biochemical tracers for predatory species.

My PhD work is concerned with the dietary niches of multiple sympatric species of deep-sea flying squids. By incorporating stable isotope analysis of their beaks with DNA barcoding and gut content analysis, I will provide a robust understanding of how these niches change over their life cycles.

I am interested in freshwater ecology and conducting research to uncover unknown questions in this area. My master's research aims to uncover the aquatic interactions between trout and sockeye salmon in a lake system by using stable isotopes and Environmental DNA.

I am fascinated by the intricate dynamics of estuarine ecology, focusing on how multiple stressors such as microplastics and nutrient run-off impact these complex environments. My research delves into nutrient cycling, utilizing fatty acids and stable isotopes to unravel the complex interactions within marine ecosystems.
